How To Make Caramel Apples- Perfect for the First Day of Autumn

My kids and I made these this afternoon! It's so easy!

MacIntosh apples
The kids took off all the caramel wrappers and  put the gooey candy in a bowl.
Pulled out the stem and replaced with a stick.
microwave for about 30 seconds and stir. repeat until all the caramel is melted.
if the caramel is too thick add some water
dip the apple in the caramel. Be careful the caramel is hot!
The kids added some sprinkles to their apples
walnuts on one
here are all four of the caramel apples we made. After you have dipped and decorated refrigerate.

  1. The apples look like fun to make and even more fun to eat - yum! You created something even better than caramel apples today and that is precious memories for you and your children to remember fondly.

  2. I can almost see the smiles on your kids' faces and smell the caramel! Might just get some caramels when I do grocery shopping today! I already have the apples.

  3. This brings back memories! They look delicious.

  4. What a fun way to make lasting memories with your children! Soon it will be time to pick out a pumpkin and jump in a pile of leaves!

  5. I don't think I ever had caramel apples until I was in college. It's a good activity to get in with the kids while they're still young.

  6. We had a lot of fun making the caramel apples. My daughter's favorite part was the warm caramel leftover after we finished dipping the apples.

  7. Yummy! Caramel is just about my favorite flavor Summer or Winter. I even like my coffee flavored with caramel. Beautiful photos.

  8. my mouth is watering! I always loved caramel apples as a kid, with chopped salted peanuts on them. Nowadays the sophisticated epicure would use caramel with sea salt. Nice post and a good idea for the season.

  9. How yummy! those look like something I might need to make this weekend. I love caramels

  10. Now I'm going to be obsessing over caramel apples! Tasty!

  11. Your pictures look good enough to eat!
